With continuous growth in South American port logistics and container transport demand, Brazilian ports are accelerating equipment upgrades. These upgrades aim to improve container throughput efficiency and operational automation levels. The customer is a Brazilian company specializing in container yard operations and logistics transfer services. Its operations include container stacking, short-distance transport, and loading and unloading tasks. The customer required high flexibility, reliability, and environmental adaptability for container straddle carriers. After evaluating multiple manufacturers and technical solutions, the customer selected HSCRANE. A 50-ton container straddle carrier was ordered for core yard operations.
Based on actual yard operating conditions, the project defined clear requirements for the straddle carrier:
▪ Rated lifting capacity of 50 tons, suitable for standard 20ft and 40ft containers
▪ Support for high-frequency loading, unloading, and short-distance transfer operations
▪ Stable operation under Brazilian high-temperature and dusty environmental conditions
▪ Easy operation to reduce labor intensity and maintenance costs
▪ Compliance with internationally recognized safety standards and port equipment regulations
Additionally, the customer expected good scalability to support future yard expansion plans.
Based on customer requirements, HSCRANE provided a complete 50-ton container straddle carrier solution. Structural design, performance configuration, and safety systems were specifically optimized.
▪ 50-ton container straddle carrier structure and performance solution: The equipment adopts a high-strength steel structure design. Overall machine stability is strong. It meets high-load and high-frequency operational demands. Lifting, traveling, and steering systems are optimally matched. This ensures smooth operation and precise container positioning.
▪ Port and yard environmental adaptability design: For high-temperature and dusty port conditions in Brazil, key components use heat-resistant and wear-resistant configurations. Electrical systems are upgraded with enhanced protection. This ensures long-term reliable operation in harsh environments.
▪ Safety and operation system configuration: The equipment integrates multiple safety protection systems. These include overload protection, limit protection, and emergency braking functions. Operational risks are effectively reduced. The ergonomic control interface improves operator comfort and working efficiency.
During project execution, HSCRANE organized production under international quality management systems. Full-process quality control covered material procurement, structural welding, and final assembly. Before delivery, the equipment completed comprehensive commissioning and functional testing. All technical indicators met design requirements. The 50-ton container straddle carrier was then packaged and shipped successfully. It arrived at the Brazilian customer site smoothly. This laid a solid foundation for installation and commissioning.
After commissioning, the straddle carrier will significantly improve container handling and transfer efficiency. Manual labor involvement will be reduced. Overall operational processes will be optimized. The customer stated that HSCRANE’s solution met expectations in performance, quality, and delivery schedule. It provided strong support for port logistics operations.
Through this project, HSCRANE further expanded container handling equipment applications in South America. It demonstrated strong technical capability and international service competence in straddle carriers and port equipment.
