Langkawi Marina Travel Lift Upgrade Project, Malaysia

Release time:May-06-2026

Langkawi is a major international yacht tourism and berthing hub in Malaysia, serving private, business, and leisure vessels year round. With rapid growth in high end yachts, a medium to large marina faced higher launch frequency, tighter maintenance windows, and stricter safety demands. The marina mainly serves 20–45 meter yachts for berthing, maintenance, cleaning, and short term storage. Existing lifting relied on mobile equipment and manual coordination, failing current capacity and safety standards. Therefore, the operator planned to introduce a safe, adaptable, and long term stable travel lift solution to upgrade operations.

Key Challenges of the Project

During early evaluation, the client identified several critical issues:

Large yacht size variations: Differences in length, beam, and center of gravity increase lifting risks.

Severe marine corrosion: High humidity and salt mist demand stronger protection for structure and electrical systems.

Low lifting efficiency limits turnover: Long launch cycles reduce berth utilization and operational efficiency.

High value yachts require extreme safety: Any swing, imbalance, or error may cause costly damage.
