A well-known yacht club and marine maintenance wharf in Singapore faced a surge in Asia-Pacific superyacht ownership. Their existing small-capacity lifting equipment could no longer support routine onshore maintenance and emergency repairs for luxury yachts over 85 feet. Due to Singapore’s extremely limited land resources, the client imposed strict requirements on yard space utilization, steering precision, and operational efficiency for the new equipment. After reviewing proposals from several global crane manufacturers, the client ultimately selected our customized 110-ton (100 Metric Tons) fully hydraulic mobile travel lift to optimize their yacht launching, recovery, and ground yard alignment transport systems.
Considering Singapore’s tropical rainforest climate (constant high temperatures, high humidity, and high salt spray) and the specific slipway width of the client’s wharf, our engineering department implemented a customized technical upgrade for the travel lift. The core parameters are listed below:
|
Parameter |
Technical Specification |
| Rated Capacity | 110 Ton (100t) |
| Span | 11.8m (customized according to existing infrastructure slipway width at Singapore wharf) |
| Lifting Height | 11m (adapts to tidal variations, covering from below the water surface to ground level) |
| Wheelbase | 9.5m |
| Traveling Mode | Fully hydraulic rubber-tired, supporting straight, diagonal, transverse, and pivot steering |
| Lifting Points | 4 sets of flexible slings, with lifting point spacing automatically adjustable via full hydraulics |
| Power & Control | Cummins tropicalized diesel generator set + remote wireless radio control system |
| Anti-corrosion | Electrical cabinets equipped with industrial air conditioners, steel structures with Sa2.5 sandblasting + C5-M marine-grade anti-corrosion coating |
●Fully Hydraulic Multi-Mode Steering for High-Density Yards: The Singapore wharf has a narrow hinterland. This travel lift uses a fully hydraulic rubber-tired traveling mechanism supporting transverse, diagonal, coaxial, and pivot steering modes. The equipment completes 90-degree turns within an extremely small turning radius. This increases yard berth space utilization by 35%.
●Flexible Distance-Adjustable Lifting System: Equipped with 4 sets of high-strength non-metallic flexible slings, the lifting points slide freely along the longitudinal main beams via hydraulic motors. This adjusts spacing precisely to different yacht lengths and center-of-gravity distributions. It ensures uniform force on the hull structure during lifting, preventing indentations and scratches on fiberglass surfaces.
●Specialized Protection for Tropical High-Humidity Environments: To counter Singapore’s extreme heat and humidity, all critical electrical control components are integrated into cabinets with independent industrial air conditioners. This prevents condensation and electrical short circuits. The main hydraulic system includes highly efficient air-cooled radiators. This keeps hydraulic oil temperatures within normal ranges during continuous operation.
The travel lift completed full manufacturing, hydraulic piping pressure holding tests, and full-load simulation drills at our domestic production base. It was then disassembled, packed, and shipped to the Port of Singapore via container liner.
Our after-sales engineering team arrived on-site with the vessel. At the Singapore wharf, the team overcame tight space constraints and worked with local mobile cranes. They completed main structure assembly, hydraulic pipe threading, and electrical wiring within 6 working days. Then, joining a local independent third-party testing agency, they used a real yacht weighing 98 tons to perform a 1.25x (137.5 tons) static load test and a 1.1x dynamic load test. All indicators passed Singapore Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) regulations on the first attempt.
Currently, the 110-ton mobile travel lift is in official commercial operation at the Singapore wharf. Client feedback shows that the equipment travels smoothly under heavy loads and offers excellent micro-movement control. The launching, recovery, and docking time for a single superyacht has dropped from 4 hours to 35 minutes. This significantly increases the club’s daily berthing turnover rate. It also builds an exceptional technical reputation in Singapore’s high-end yacht maintenance market.
