In the modern yacht marina upgrade project in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, the local operator urgently needed a travel lift. This travel lift required high-precision control. It had to adapt to extreme high temperatures and high salt fog environments. The marina mainly serves ultra-large luxury yachts. It has strict requirements for equipment safety and lifting stability. Relying on its heavy lifting engineering experience, HSCRANE customized and delivered an 80-ton travel lift to this client.
Before winning this project, the client faced multiple concerns:
1.Extreme climate adaptability: Saudi Arabia’s high heat and the port’s high salt fog are severe. They strictly test the anti-corrosion capabilities of electrical systems and metal structures.
2.Limited space and operation efficiency: The marina shoreline planning is compact. The equipment must precisely lift and move large yachts within a limited area.
3.Hull protection needs: The target vessels are highly valuable. Absolutely no deformation or scratches can occur during the lifting process.
To address these technical pain points, we deeply customized the 80-ton travel lift design:
●Smart soft start and precise control: The system integrates a PLC smart control unit for precise alignment. Multi-point synchronous lifting point adjustment technology automatically distributes lifting loads based on yacht centers of gravity.
●Anti-corrosion upgrade package: We applied multi-layer anti-corrosion treatments to key hydraulic lines. The electrical box uses IP67 protection. This extends core component life by over 30% in Jeddah’s hot, humid coastal environment.
●Double crossbeam structure: It uses a gantry double crossbeam structure made of high-strength low-alloy steel. This ensures a 25% increase in overall torsional rigidity when running with a full 80-ton load.

From the travel lift arriving at Jeddah port to finishing setup, HSCRANE’s on-site team took only 12 workdays. In the following week, the equipment successfully completed lifting tests for 15 yachts of 50-75 tons.
