Yacht tourism along the Adriatic coast has continued to heat up in recent years. As a major Croatian maritime hub, Split’s large yacht marinas face growing vessel maintenance pressure. Recently, our self-developed 80-ton mobile boat hoist arrived at the port smoothly. It completed assembly and testing, officially entering daily dry dock operations. This cooperation fills the local capacity gap for medium yacht handling equipment. It also validates our ability to provide customized solutions for the high-end offshore market.
Split marina has limited hinterland space. It moors expensive fiberglass and aluminum luxury yachts all year round. During early procurement, the client gave us several very specific engineering requirements:
●Turning difficulties due to limited space: The marina’s main roads are very narrow. Conventional lifting equipment cannot turn around flexibly. This easily causes traffic congestion and lowers maintenance turnover rates.
●Extremely high hull protection requirements: Yacht shells are incredibly delicate. High local stress or hard surface scratches are absolutely forbidden during lifting.
●High salt and humidity environment tests: Long-term sea breezes and salt spray pose fatal tests. They threaten steel structures and electrical components in Mediterranean climates. The mobile boat hoist must have extremely strong anti-corrosion capabilities.
Addressing these specific conditions, our tech team conducted multiple drawing simulations with the Croatian side. We finally finalized the specific specifications of this 80-ton mobile boat hoist:
|
Parameter Name |
Specification Data |
| Rated Lifting Capacity | 80 tons |
| Span (Clear Width) | 8.5 meters (customized for client dock) |
| Lifting Height | 10 meters |
| Travel Speed | 0-20 m/min (stepless variable frequency control) |
| Lifting Speed | 0-2 m/min |
| Steering Mode | Independent steering, 90-degree pivot, diagonal movement |
| Power System | Cummins diesel generator set |
| Overall Anti-corrosion Level | C5-M (Marine heavy anti-corrosion standard) |
To thoroughly solve the client’s pain points, we introduced targeted designs. We applied these during the mobile boat hoist manufacturing process.
●Nondestructive handling system: Traditional hard wire rope connections easily damage the hull. We equipped this equipment with high-strength, wide-section flexible lifting straps. Multiple lifting points support independent lifting adjustments. Even if a rear engine shifts the yacht’s gravity center, operators adjust it easily. Fine-tuning maintains absolute hull levelness. This achieves zero damage during yacht lifting and launching processes.
●All-terrain dynamic steering: This mobile boat hoist features a multi-axis electro-hydraulic proportional steering system. The equipment achieves center pivoting and diagonal movement in crowded Split marinas. Operators only need a wireless remote control. They can maneuver this giant machine through dense boat arrangements. This greatly improves the dry dock’s site utilization rate.
●Heavy anti-corrosion coating process: We target coastal high salt spray environments. All steel surfaces undergo Sa2.5 shot blasting treatment. We use a three-tier marine-grade coating system. This includes epoxy zinc-rich primer, micaceous iron intermediate coat, and polyurethane finish. All core electrical components are sealed inside IP67 waterproof boxes. This ensures stable equipment operation in long-term marine environments.
After one month of shipping and one week of assembly, testing began. The 80-ton mobile boat hoist completed its first heavy-load test at Split marina. A 24-meter luxury powerboat was smoothly lifted. It was precisely placed on the maintenance bracket.
“This mobile boat hoist’s handling smoothness exceeded our expectations,” said Goran. The marina engineering manager stated this after the final acceptance. “Its diagonal movement feature saved us massive reversing time. We now handle two or three more boats for maintenance daily. The return on investment is extremely intuitive.”
Providing safe and efficient lifting equipment remains our guiding principle. This applies to private yacht clubs or large commercial shipyards. The successful operation of this 80-ton mobile boat hoist confirms our strength. It proves our manufacturing capability in the non-standard lifting field.
