Southeast Asian cross-border trade is surging rapidly. Port container throughput faces unprecedented pressure. Last year, Jakarta’s Tanjung Priok Port started its phase two yard expansion. To clear yard logistics bottlenecks, the equipment procurement department compared multiple technical bids. They finally introduced the 90-ton RTG crane made by HSCRANE. Currently, this equipment batch has finished full-load trial runs. It is officially delivered to the port authority. We take this chance to conduct a full technical review of this overseas delivery.

Indonesia is tropical. The climate has high heat, humidity, and salt fog. It also has a long rainy season. Standard cranes easily suffer electrical faults here. Their structures also corrode easily. HSCRANE made multiple targeted improvements during the design stage:
●Marine-grade anti-corrosion coating: The entire steel structure undergoes shot blasting. We apply a four-layer heavy anti-corrosion coating system. It uses epoxy zinc-rich primer, micaceous iron intermediate, and polyurethane topcoat. Total paint thickness exceeds 280μm. Fasteners use Dacromet or stainless steel to resist sea breeze.
●Rigid and flexible anti-sway system: The yard faces large wind loads. We added electronic anti-sway to the mechanical eight-rope system. Tests show great results during full-speed emergency stops. Spreader sway drops within ±5 cm in 2.5 seconds. This sharply reduces truck alignment time.
●All-weather anti-slip and correction: Rainy seasons cause wet and slippery roads. Tires easily slip and deviate. We added GPS-assisted auto-correction to the chassis walking mechanism. It also features a tire anti-slip algorithm. This ensures the RTG crane walks perfectly straight on wet runways.
●Enclosed electrical room and climate control: Core cabinets sit in an independent room. They feature industrial constant-temperature dehumidification air conditioning. Electrical parts maintain optimal working temperatures. They work perfectly despite 45℃ heat and 95% humidity outside.
Shipping large RTG crane parts is complex. HSCRANE sent an overseas maintenance team to Jakarta Port. It included 3 senior mechanical and 2 electrical engineers. They guided the on-site assembly. Assembly, roping, debugging, and load testing took only 25 days. This finished one week ahead of the port’s expected schedule.
At the delivery ceremony, Tanjung Priok’s equipment technical director said: “The operating smoothness of HSCRANE equipment exceeded our expectations. The steering system flexibility is especially great. It makes equipment transfer between yard blocks highly efficient. The equipment ran flawlessly during recent continuous heavy rainstorms. This is crucial for us to increase overall port throughput.”
